An electric heat exchanger with Continuous Helical Flow Technology helps reduce the coking and fouling typically associated with standard heat exchangers, says its manufacturer. Diminishing the coking and fouling rates can minimize heat exchanger maintenance intervals, ultimately reducing downtime.


Helimax enables high heat transfer rates that lower the skin- and shell-temperature rise above the process fluid. It also minimizes fluid bypass, helping to ensure tighter sheath temperature control. With smaller shell diameters than comparable exchangers, says the company, high pressures can be handled with thinner shell walls or without requiring exotic materials.

The SHX and SHX-EX heaters are designed to safely heat IPA and low flashpoint solvents. Features include a proprietary purge system to eliminate risks associated with high temperature fluid permeation, an indirect-heating design and low watt-density rating. Explosionproof certification also is available. The compact, indirect, inline flow path is free of contact with O-rings. Designed to permanently mount on machinery, the C-30 clamp retracts without tools to allow quick access to the interior. The C-clamp provides up to 1,700 lb of clamping force to establish a tight seal on machine panels, doors, housings, screen decks and other parts. A proprietary, stainless steel yoke-and-roll pin assembly allows single-handed opening without detaching the clamp from the machinery.
