An electric heat exchanger with Continuous Helical Flow Technology helps reduce the coking and fouling typically associated with standard heat exchangers, says its manufacturer. Diminishing the coking and fouling rates can minimize heat exchanger maintenance intervals, ultimately reducing downtime.
Helimax enables high heat transfer rates that lower the skin- and shell-temperature rise above the process fluid. It also minimizes fluid bypass, helping to ensure tighter sheath temperature control. With smaller shell diameters than comparable exchangers, says the company, high pressures can be handled with thinner shell walls or without requiring exotic materials.

An air-pollution control system, the wet electrostatic precipitator efficiently cleans industrial gases of fine particulate matter, acid mists and aerosols to meet environmental regulations and protect downstream equipment.
The wet electrostatic precipitator can remove up to 98 percent of particulate in a single stage, depending on the characteristics of the gas stream. Increased removal efficiency is possible with alternative configurations, says the manufacturer. It was designed to provide efficient contaminant capture, achieved through increased operating voltage that requires less collecting surface area. The gas-distribution system is designed to optimize flow through the system. Features of the advanced WESP system include decreased maintenance, enhanced performance, standardization and faster installation times, according to the manufacturer.

Designed to permanently mount on machinery, the C-30 clamp retracts without tools to allow quick access to the interior. The C-clamp provides up to 1,700 lb of clamping force to establish a tight seal on machine panels, doors, housings, screen decks and other parts. It can be used to join different materials and multiple thicknesses.
A proprietary, stainless steel yoke-and-roll pin assembly allows single-handed opening without detaching the clamp from the machinery. It was developed to allow safe operator access to machine internals such as in dryers, mixers, conveyors, tanks and reactors. It is manufactured in cast aluminum and stainless steel, or in 100 percent, FDA-approved 303 stainless steel to meet USDA regulations and 3-A standards for the food and dairy industries.

Intended for laboratory testing and low volume production applications, Model D-100 is equipped with a 16" (40 cm), 1625-W square infrared heater that achieves temperatures to 750°F (400°C). The compact infrared conveyor dryer can be placed on tabletops or wheeled utility carts with tops as small as 24" (61 cm) square.
The heating chamber has a fixed infeed width of 19.5" (49.6 cm), and its infeed height can be raised and lowered from 2 to 7" inches (5 to 17.7 cm). The heater also can be raised, lowered and pivoted to accommodate the products being heated using lock knobs on the sides of the heating chamber for uniform heating. Heater shields are included as standard to maximize edge-to-edge temperature consistency. Offered in 120 or 240 V models, the oven has an 18" (45.8 cm) wide Teflon-coated fiberglass conveyor belt driven by a 50 in-lb motor.

In industrial process engineering applications, temperature transmitters act as a link between temperature sensors in the process and the higher levels of automation. Measurement instruments often are installed in difficult-to-access locations that can complicate commissioning, operation and servicing.
To address these and other issues, Model iTEMP TMT142B has a secure, integrated Bluetooth interface that enables users to wirelessly visualize measured values, access NAMUR NE 017 diagnostic information and perform configuration tasks. The smart temperature transmitter can be set up and operated via a phone or tablet and the company’s SmartBlue app. The configurable, single-channel device transmits converted signals from resistance sensors (RTD), thermocouples (TC), resistances (Ω) and voltage transmitters (mV) via the 4 to 20 mA signal or the HART 7 communication.

Continuous processing equipment can automatically mix multiple, highly viscous, liquid and dry materials to a targeted, homogeneous mixture at discharge without requiring the addition of water as a thinning agent.
With a proprietary design that includes twin, co-rotating screws set within a closed barrel, the Continuous Processors are custom engineered to handle viscosities in excess of 10 million cps as needed to permit the production of syrups, adhesives, sealants, oils, foams and other thick materials. By eliminating the addition of water at the outset, downstream drying and cooling steps to remove excess water from the product are reduced or eliminated.

Shannon Steam Heat Kits can be used to prevent freezing or maintain fluid viscosity for refineries, chemical plants and other industrial applications as well as during shipments of food and beverage. The kits, which act as a heat source, consist of steam-carrying, stainless steel tubing and wrap around components such as gate valves, Coriolis meters and pump housings.
The company also can include custom-designed, reusable thermal-blanket insulation, which a mechanic can use to cover the kits and reduce heat loss. Each steam-coil assembly is designed with a CAD system to maximize the surface area being traced with tubing and minimize installation time by mirroring the geometry of the component or heavy equipment being wrapped. The tracing is manufactured from 304 or 316 stainless steel seamless tubing to withstand harsh weather.
